Anzac Day is the solemn national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand to remember all those soldiers who have fought and died for their country. It is marked annually on the anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign in 1915 during the First World War. This year is the 104th anniversary of that campaign.

In Dublin the annual dawn service takes place in Grangegorman Military Cemetery. This is a very special service to attend, it is open to the public and is hosted jointly by the Australian Embassy, Ireland HE Mr. Richard Andrews, Australian Ambassador to Ireland and the New Zealand Embassy in Ireland, HE Mr. Brad Burgess, New Zealand Ambassador to Ireland.

We also remember today the many Irish soldiers who served with the Australian, New Zealand and British Forces who gave their lives at Gallipoli and in subsequent campaigns.
